MICROBIOME TESTING – MetaBiome Sampling Kit

METABIOME TEST

WHAT IS IN YOUR MICROBIOME and HOW DOES IT HELP YOU?

MetaBiome test reports on the composition of your microbiome including which species are present, as well as the diversity of microbes.

Microbial diversity is a measure of the number of different microorganisms and the amount of each of these microorganisms in the sample.

Going beyond which microbes are in the gut, what they are capable of doing is more important. Through comprehensive analysis of the genes in each and every microbe, we can understand the functional capacity of the microbiome to contribute to the health of different systems in the body:

  • Nervous system function
  • Immune function
  • Inflammatory balance
  • Metabolic health
  • Digestive function
  • Detoxification

Average to high microbial diversity is associated with good health. Different microbes use different prebiotic fibers as fuel for them to grow.

A varied diet rich in plant-based foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains and nuts can help increase microbiome diversity. The Shannon Index is a measure of diversity which is used by members of the scientific community to compare results through time.

Everybody’s microbiome composition is different, and science is telling us that the functional capacity of the microbiome is more important than which species inhabit it.

A Score is given on each test and is an indication of your overall gut health, gut mucosal health, gut motility, metabolic health, nervous system health, immune health, . There are eleven categories which are the key indicators of gut health. Their contributions to the MetaBiome score are weighted based on the scientific evidence showing the level of influence each one has shown on our health. The healthy comparison range for MetaBiome score is 70- 98.
